QC Inspector - Coating/Painting

Intertek Abu Dhabi - UAE Contractor

§  Have knowledge of relevant industrial codes (ANSI/ASME, ASTM, API, BS, MSS, NACE, SSPC, NFPA etc.) and shall be familiar with Applicable ARAMCO Company documents such as SPs, PRs etc.

§  Familiar with the Flawless Project Delivery Programme.

§  Able to read and understand Drawings

§  Able to review EPC's ITP and Quality Procedure in painting, coating, refractory and insulation.

§  Able to interface with other disciplines at the various stages.

§  Able to identify materials that are sub-standard and that do not meet the requirements of the job specification (rogue and counterfeit items).

§  Able to review and interpret quality records to determine compliance with requirements.

§  Have knowledge of basic troubleshooting.

§  Have knowledge and experience with gauge control and calibration related to the activities.

§  Able to understand identification and traceability related to equipment /products /materials /samples and the associated documents/records.

§  Have knowledge of base metal, especially, exotic material.

§  Understand liquid applied coating and curing mechanism. Understand coating failures.

§  Have knowledge of surface preparation equipment and various application methods.

§  Have knowledge of linings and special coating systems and fusion-bonded epoxy coating.

§  Have knowledge of hot-dip galvanizing and spray metalizing.

§  Able to perform coating survey / evaluations.

§  Have knowledge of fire proofing application.

§  Must be organized and able to multi-task.

§  Able to use computer for general business applications (email, word processing, spreadsheets).

§  Written and oral communication skills with both individuals and groups. Read, write and speak English.

§  Exhibit a courteous and professional attitude towards Company Project Group and Construction Contractors showing enthusiasm and dedication.

§  Experience working in difficult locations and with diverse construction personnel.

ARAMCO Project experience is mandatory.


CBT Passed Coating/Painting Inspectors required.


§  Comply with Company HSE standards and lifesaving rules. Reinforce the Company HSE requirements to the team members.


§  Oversee inspection of Painting /Coating (including Spray Metalizing and Fire Proofing) and Refractory/Insulation activities conducted at shops and construction sites.


§  Witness and monitor Subcontractors / Construction Contractors work activities, inspection and test in accordance with the approved Quality Control Plan / ITP, Quality Procedures etc.


§  Assist review of Construction Contractor quality control plans / ITPs and Quality Procedures and all pertained QA/QC documentation prior to commencement of any construction work.


§  Input result of inspection / observations into the web-based inspection recording system in timely manner.


§  Ensure Subcontractors /Construction Contractors have relevant, up to date codes, standards, specifications and drawings.


§  Interface with the discipline engineer, construction engineer, and inspectors in a professional manner.


§  Review original material / test certificate for compliances to codes and specifications.


§  Ensure testing, measuring equipment is fully calibrated per specification and has current certification.


§  Ensure installed fire proofing is certified for fire classification as per specification.


§  Identify counterfeit items during inspection or surveillance and immediately report to ARAMCO Project.


§  Witness in-process inspections per ITP and Inspection Requests to ensure work proceeds in accordance to specifications, the approved drawings and procedures.


§  Maintain adequate files on all inspection issues and administer the Non – Conformance Reports until resolution, completion and acceptance.


§  Ensure that the status of the works is known, documentation is prepared, and information provided to the Company on completed work and all quality aspect of the works.


§  Coordinate monitor performance and ensure adequate documentation on any additional inspections, tests required during the works.


§  Ensure that all approved plans and procedures for the execution of the works are available prior to the start of the work and are implemented and adhered to.


§  Assist in quality investigations and audits when required.


§  Support implementation of Flawless Project Delivery (FPD).


 

Provide input to project reports identifying project quality performance, issues and trends.
