*This position will be filled as a Sr Telecom Tech or below depending on experience.* Job Summary/PurposeUnder limited supervision, with significant latitude for planning or laying out of working details, with responsibility for results, must be able to perform work of significant difficulty involved in the installation, provisioning, and technical support of all types of telecommunications equipment, and be qualified to do the following and related work as assigned: Job Duties/ResponsibilitiesPerform telecom circuit provisioning.Perform telecom circuit issue resolution.Perform telecom system hardware installation.Perform telecom system moves and changes.Perform telecom system outage resolution.Execute orders effectively and efficiently.Be proficient in the use of test equipment, such as Volt-Ohmmeters, RF Power Meters, Frequency Counters, Communications Service Monitors, Optical Power Meters, Transmission Impairment Measurement Test Sets, T-1 Test Sets, DS-3 Test Sets, and Optical Time Domain Reflectometers.Plan, layout, and perform work assigned in a safe and efficient manner.Direct work of crew members, instruct and train other employees. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSMinimum education required of the position:Two year Associates Degree specializing in electronics, instrumentation, computers, or engineering or Have at least two years of equivalent work/training experience in a related field.MUST BE EEI TECH TEST RECOMMENDED Minimum experience required of the position:Tech II: 4+ years' experience in at least three of the following areas; voice system support, two-way radio system support, fiber optic transmission system support, microwave radio system support, or AC and DC power plant support. Must have worked for at least 1 year as a qualified Communications Serviceman 3rd Class, or have had equivalent experience in related work, having all qualifications of the previous classification.Tech Sr: 5+ years' experience in at least three of the following areas; voice system support, two-way radio system support, fiber optic transmission system support, microwave radio system support, or AC and DC power plant support.
