Train System Engineer (f/d/m) for our Services organization located in Zurich, Switzerland

Alstom is investing in Green Mobility and Innovations. These new systems (Driver Assistant Systems, Autonomous Driving, Pedestrian Safety Improvement systems, …) have to be implemented not only in new vehicles, but also in vehicles already in service. You will go in a deep customer relationship to integrate, install, test and maintain the new systems. Further topics are spare parts, obsolescence, modernisations and overhauls in bid phase as well as project phase.  You will be working within a highly technical environment, supported by experienced and motivated colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Developing strategies and solutions for implementing systems in existing railway vehicles including offering.
  • High level of independent working on the tasks. Seek for support where necessary.
  • For smaller projects you will have the technical lead or even the Project Manager Role.
  • Integrate, install, test, document and maintain the systems at customer site.
  • Supporting the customer with homologation of the system.
  • Organize internal/external project progress meetings.
  • Working closely with system development team/subsuppliers and support future system enhancements.
  • Supporting the Services Switzerland Team in other engineering topics like spare parts, obsolescence issues, modernisations, overhauls, etc (bids and projects).

Qualifications

  • Relevant academic background, preferably in Electrical Engineering , e.g. Master’s Degree 
  • Fluent in English and German mandatory
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience. 
  • Open minded and persevering
  • Previous working experience in the rail industry is appreciate. 
  • Knowledge in the use of the MS Office 365 environment and other common office tools (Onenote, MS-TEAMS, Sharepoint, VISIO)
  • Knowledge in project management is an advantage (Agile Methodology) 
  • Knowledge in new technologies (Networks, Software, AI, Stereovision, Sensor Fusion,…), “Industrie 4.0” or innovation management is an advantage.
  • Desired competences: communication, teamwork, innovation, initiative and problem solving.
