A Northern Territory based field assistant is required for a remote NT exploration project.  Accommodation and meals are provided, with accommodation in either dongas or swags depending upon the project requirements.  


Reporting to the Senior Field Assistant, you will provide support to the team with day to day exploration activities on a Greenfields project in remote locations on a campaign roster basis and assist in the development and implementation of Prodigy’s exploration strategy.

Your duties will include, but not be limited to:

• Management of safety and environment during exploration field activities

• Clearing/pegging and preparation of drill sites

• Assist geologists with drill rig supervision and field mapping

• Geochemical/drill sampling and associated technical requirements

• Collecting, organising and coordinating samples for dispatch

• Associated data entry of sampling programs

• Rehabilitation of drill sites

• Liaise with contractors

• Oversee the department light vehicles including tracking and monitoring their safety and maintenance

Requirements/qualifications to secure this role are:

• Minimum of two years' experience in a similar role

• Current 'C' Class drivers licence (minimum)

• Current 'HR' Class drivers licence (preferable)

• Current Senior First Aid Certificate (preferable)

• Front End Loader experience (preferable)

• Forklift ticket & experience (preferable)

• Previous experience in drill rig sampling and processing (Diamond, RC and/or RAB)

• Previous experience in geochemical sampling

• Previous experience in clearing, preparation & rehabilitation of drill sites

• GPS operation experience

• Basic data entry skills and general computer literacy

The role will see a campaign roster of approximately 19 days on (including travel days) and 9 days off. The competitive day rate will be applied to all working and travel days. The job will require up to 12 hours of work per day, depending on the time of year and jobs undertaken. Preference will be given to enthusiastic individuals who live near Alice Springs.
