Morson are delighted to be recruitng for our Aerospace Client based in Filton, Bristol.


£16.27 Per hour PAYE day shift plus 28 days paid holiday per year.

£21.72 Per hour Umbrella

Overtime available £20.34 – PAYE/Umbrella £27.15 in the week, £24.41 – PAYE/Umbrella £32.58 at weekend.

35 hours per week Monday to Thursday 7am – 4:15pm

6 month rolling contract

Skilled Fabricators who live 75 miles+ from site can claim accommodation allowance up to £800 per month.

To be considered for the skilled fabricator position you will need the following

Certs at apprenticeship Level required Apprenticeship with Level 3 City and Guilds or Level 3 NVQ May also accept Plate Fabrication Certs although only if CV shows has fabrication experience with thinner materials (3mm and less)

Job Description

The skilled fabricator will have the below skills.

The use of hand, electrical and pneumatic tools and bending machines to shape, form and assemble metal products within drawing limits.  Desired abilities to include (but not limited to):

  • Use of jigs to assemble parts made from stainless steel, titanium, or aluminium
  • Fitting
  • Swaging
  • Measuring machinery and jigs
  • Awareness of recognised quality process, i.e., ISO 9001, AS/EN9100, or similar.

Key Deliverables for the Skilled Fabricator

  • Ensure parts are produced on a righ first time basis
  • Ensure that any calibrated equipment used is within date
  • The fabricator will be responsible for timely clearance of work using SAP
  • Highlight any non conformance to the Team Leader
  • The fabricator to adhere to GKN quality procedures
  • Accountable for Health and Safety requirements under section 7 of the HASAWA 1974
  • To hold first party inspection approval
  • Responsible for general housekeeping within the area.

Key skill for the fabricator

  • Previous manufacturing experience in a factory environment would be desireable.
  • The skilled fabricator will have the ability to understand technichal drawings.
  • Work in small teams with the Process Team Leaders.
  • Self motivated with good communication skills
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
