WSP Tunnel Systems provides a total end-to-end tunnel asset capability; transforming the integration of tunnel systems design and delivery, led by safety and operations.
Within our growing Tunnel Systems team, we have exciting opportunities for a Tunnel Systems Design Manager and Systems Specialist Engineers at all grades who will report to the Head of Tunnel Systems. Using your technical knowledge and design or project management experience you will draw on our diverse range of technical experts to deliver prestigious new build and refurbishment tunnel systems projects across many industry sectors including road, rail and utilities. You will be influential in the delivery of engineering / infrastructure / construction projects to an ever-increasing client base.
The successful candidates will work collaboratively with other internal specialist departments and external project partners to lead and assist in project delivery, you may also be involved in the Tunnel System’s strategic development whilst we develop our larger and wider tunnel systems team.
A typical week would include: Delivering multi-discipline tunnel systems engineering projects within the UK and internationally. Meeting our Clients and delivering their goals. Being responsible for your project performance in terms of time, cost and quality of the output, ultimately ensuring customer satisfaction throughout delivery. Drawing upon and managing resources from other internal specialist WSP teams to ensure that your assigned projects are appropriately resourced to meet the project needs. Supporting the Deputy and Head of Tunnel Systems in delivering the strategic direction of the team, helping drive delivery and business sustainability.
We'd love to hear from you if you have: A proven technical capability of the design, operation or delivery of tunnel or underground systems/services either electrical, mechanical, fire life safety, communications and control systems along with an understanding of tunnel operational procedures and practices, or, Design delivery or Project Management skills with the desire to grow, manage and direct a diverse team of technical experts across the WSP business to deliver against project, operational and commercial targets Chartered status (or an application in hand) through an appropriate institution – ICE, IMechE, IET, CIBSE, APM or experience in a senior position. A proven track record of working collaboratively with both internal and external partners Based London, Guildford, Midlands or South West with a willingness to travel and/or work in various locations across the UK and some short-term international travel.
