We are currently recruiting for a dynamic Analyst to be an active member of our Sustainability Business Unit (Formerly Energy & Sustainability Services) in our Tokyo Office to support our work in electric power and natural gas markets for Japan.

Position Summary:

The selected candidate will contribute to the development of innovative, accurate, timely, and high-quality outputs and services, typically working on multiple projects with our internal team on behalf of our clients. The selected candidate will also have an opportunity to apply experience and academic knowledge, and interact with experts and clients in the field, while continuing to build content knowledge and consulting skills.

Tasks:

  • Providing commercial and industrial client Request for Proposal (RFP) process management and support.
  • Requesting, gathering and collecting data and authorization forms as needed.
  • Prepares, executes, analyses and interprets energy budgets, delivered cost reports, and other bespoke reports for our clients to agreed standards
  • Monitors and executes tasks allocated to him or her in various task tracking systems
  • Ensures a timely, complete and accurate acquisition of all necessary inputs for our reporting requirements
  • Analyses and interprets formal energy supply contractual documents
  • Understands underlying commodity price calculations, implements them into consolidated energy reports
  • Determines and applies appropriate assumptions, keeps assumptions updated in recurring reports
  • Performs extensive quality control prior to reports delivered to our clients
  • Focuses on power and natural gas, but also delivers services for fuel oils and steam and supports other commodities if required
  • Executes action plans and projects in order to continuously improve our systems to adapt to changes in energy markets and their regulations
  • Other ad-hoc tasks related to energy spend calculations
  • Works closely with the Client Management / Sourcing / Solutions / Data Team / IT and other internal stakeholders to deliver an exceptional level of service to our clients
  • Attends meetings with key internal teams and also clients where required
  • Contacts external stakeholders for inputs required for our reports (suppliers, distributors)
  • Follows escalation rules and notifies stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Owns and develops business processes to the highest standards of efficiency, control, and accuracy
  • Transfers knowledge to other parts of the business, holds internal presentations and trainings
  • Participates in market research further developing our knowledge in energy markets and their regulations



Essential Skills, Qualifications and Requirement:

  • Degree educated (preferably in Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics)
  • 0-4 year of experience. Experience in operation roles for power, renewables, fuel or sustainability services desirable.
  • Demonstrate excellent quantitative analysis skills with an interest in energy sector
  • Possess the desire to work in a dynamic and diverse team environment
  • Exceptional Data & Web Research skills
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate with supervisory staff in Japan and other geographies
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills; especially Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Aptitude to quickly learn processes and willingness to strictly adhere to such processes
 
  • Must be organized and with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multitask and work on multiple assignments at a time
