If you are a Manufacturing & Operations professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our Southaven, MS location, you will be directly responsible for managing the day to day workflow and production output for the Memphis Distribution Center. This position establishes standards, compliance, scheduling, staffing, and auditing activities to meet customer and company objectives of improved customer service and productivity. Quality and delivery performance will be evaluated against work produced.   Continuous improvement of current processes and ability to enact change will be critical to achieve success.
AS A DISTRIBUTION OPERATIONS MANAGER, YOU WILL: 
  • Provide guidance, support, direction and leadership through positive interactions with all personnel during daily operations.
  • Directs and assigns work daily to meet daily production/shipping requirements through proper manpower utilization for production output and flow of work. 
  • Assists in the training and instruction of employees to perform work assignments in a safe, proper and efficient manner, while reinforcing correct safety habits within work groups.
  • Handles all scheduling, personnel paperwork, and timecards.
  • Control labor and material usage to meet or improve standard costs.
  • Maintains good employee relations through counseling and proper application of employee relations policies.
  • Recommends improvements in job methods and processes.
  • Ensures department meets lean manufacturing and continuous improvement goals.
  • Monitors’ and maintains efficiency and productivity utilizing the current data collections system.
  • Assists in maintaining proper inventory levels, coordinating with internal and external organizations, as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required
  • Minimum 5  years demonstrated leadership in a manufacturing, operations, or distribution setting
  • Legal work authorization in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role
 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  
  • Strong organizational and human relations skills required.
  • Experience and/or training in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma desired.
  • Experience with shipping to retail customers strongly preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with managerial, office, and  hourly workforce.
  • High degree of business acumen as it relates to vendors or other individuals outside the organization.
