Job Title  Commissioning Manager

Reporting to the Manager - Commissioning Services, the CSU-ORA Team Leader will manage DBOOM project on Commissioning/Start-Up aspects on Exterran’s DBOOM project in Oman.   

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be the focal point for communication with Clients on all CSU aspects.
  • Will be overall responsible for all Project Commissioning activities.
  • Report directly to the Project Manager in a Projectized Organization.
  • Plan for new resources/budgets in line with business forecasts; revisit and review existing resources/budgets
  • Manage and ensure Turnover documentation
  • Develop Commissioning sequence and schedules; update during the project duration as required based on actual progress
  • Deploy and manage temporary manpower for Commissioning and Start-Up purposes
  • Integrate Operations personnel into Commissioning team for hands-on experience and quicker familiarization with the plant design and operational requirements
  • Manage and authorize development of applicable CSU and ORA deliverables on the projects 
  • Support Business Development by providing strategies and inputs to prospective upcoming projects and new bids/tenders
  • Provide technical guidance and support on ongoing projects
  • Support Water contract operations team in fine-tuning water process conditions to meet optimal performance for client and minimize operational costs for Exterran
  • Develop Commissioning Plans and Procedures; customize plans as required for client deployments for witness and sign offs
  • Troubleshoot Start-Up and Operational issues

CRITICAL COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision
  • Strong technical writing skills and data analysis skills
  • Excellent impersonal skills; especially with managing field operations communications
  • Able to multi-task different projects / assignments
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Computer skills, specifically regarding Microsoft Excel, Word, and MS Project

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE - SKILLS

  • A university graduate in engineering in Chemical/Mechanical/Instrumentation disciplines preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Field Commissioning activities
  • Plant Start-Up and Operations experience asset
  • Understanding of produced water treatment and reservoir water chemistry will be an asset
  • Knowledge of chemical treatment and lab analysis
  • Mechanical assembly & fabrication experience
  • Working knowledge of controls and automation

Physical Demands

  • Requires employee to constantly type and use a computer and other office equipment, such as copier, printer, calendar, telephones, etc.

  • Must be able to communicate and respond to coworkers, customers, vendors, suppliers and emergency cues/alarms, in person and on the telephone, including use of mobile devices
