At Jacobs we don’t just design buildings; we design state-of-the-art facilities that simplify our everyday lives and power our virtual world today and into the future. We push the limits of what’s possible to make the world smarter, more connected and more sustainable.
We are looking for an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our Toronto team. In this role you’ll participate in the development of technical specifications, plans, elevations, sections and details for various structural projects, including water /wastewater treatment, pumping stations, transportation, institutional, commercial and industrial facilities.
You’ll be working mainly from home (unless you prefer coming into the office), with the expectation to travel for client /site meetings and occasional team meetings.
In this role, you'll support a Lead Engineer on large, complex projects with engineering design, reporting, analysis and calculations. You’ll have the opportunity to lead smaller scopes of design work independently. You’ll coordinate with architects and other engineers in progression of design, as well as provide direction and markups to BIM/CAD designers to develop the BIM and drawing sets. You’ll participate in client or contractor meetings and will support Contract Administration during construction through shop drawing reviews, responses to RFIs and site visits.
We’re invested in you and your success. Our values stand on a foundation of safety, integrity, inclusion and diversity. We put people at the heart of our business and we truly believe that by supporting one another through our culture of caring, we all succeed. We value positive mental health and a sense of belonging for all employees. We aim to make inclusion and diversity core attributes of our identity, embedded in all our employment and business practices in all locations. We know that if we are inclusive, we’re more connected, and if we are diverse, we’re more creative.
As a Disability Confident employer, we will interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for a vacancy. We welcome applications from candidates who are seeking flexible working and from those who may not meet all the listed requirements for a role.
Bring your curiosity, passion for creativity, and multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment. We’ll help you grow, pursue and fulfill what inspires you – so we can make big impacts on the world, together.
