Our lighting designs aim not only to be visually captivating but to also sit suitably within the environment within which they are located whilst also being buildable and maintainable and embracing new technologies. We take account of key environmental factors including sustainability in the use of energy and carbon as well as ecological factors relating to wildlife and obtrusive light
To meet our growing UK business needs and support our development aspirations we are seeking experienced Lighting Engineer to join our team in one of our regional offices.
You will a key member of the team, taking a role in supporting the delivery of lighting consultancy services and projects from feasibility, through design to delivery for public and private clients and be part of a respected and ambitious company with excellent career prospects and international opportunities.

A typical week would include: Assisting in the preparation of lighting and electrical designs through feasibility, optioneering, planning and detailed design stages. Supporting client and stakeholder engagement to understand their needs and assist in providing technical solutions on their projects. Keeping up to date with industry developments with respect to own discipline, other disciplines and engineering innovations and developments on a global scale. Assisting with the preparation of client policies and procedures. Demonstrating experience in completing detailed site assessments / inspections to support design development. The ability to support in the production of accurate, efficient, creative and co-ordinated lighting designs utilising both internal and external resources. Assisting with the mentoring of junior team members to support their future development. Supporting in meeting productivity targets, widening our client base and support team growth. Continuous Professional Development, including attendance at CPD events, exhibitions and seminars.
We'd love to hear from you if you have: The ability to demonstrate a portfolio of work that demonstrates that the individual has played an active support role detailing both creative and technical knowledge and skills associated to lighting design. Experience in assisting with the preparation of fee estimates, technical reports, feasibility studies, designs, business cases, bids, specifications and contract documents. Conversant of relevant British and EU Standards, legislation including Health & Safety. The ability to liaise with clients, the public, stakeholders and local authorities. IT skills consummate with current lighting design practices and Office based software Confidence with proven interpersonal, organisational, analytical, technical and communication skills. The ability to multitask in a high volume, fast paced work environment with very tight deadline. The ability to be self-motivated and able to plan their own workload to deliver projects to Clients timescales. Gained or are working towards an Engineering Technician status. Associate Member of a lighting professional organisation (ILP, SLL, CIBSE).
Desirable HERS Registration. Experience in delivering BIM compliant schemes. Knowledge in Smart Cities and Internet of Things. BS 7671 (Wiring Regulations 18th Edition) qualification or experiential equivalent Completion of or working towards the completion of an appropriate lighting design course (i.e. ILP, ELD, IET Diploma).
