Join us as Lead Electro Mechanical Engineer, and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role based in St-Bruno (QC), CA.

The Lead Electro-Mechanical Engineer works in close contact with the Train Electrical Engineer to define from the beginning of the project, the general guidelines and architecture that will define the strategy to follow to a succesful development project.  From these starting points, the Lead Electro Mechanical Engineer will be responsible to lead a functional team in the development and successful on time and quality design implementation of the objectives for the project asigned.  Everything must meet the general standards in force or specifically requested by our customers.

Accountable for :
Performing project Electro-Mechanical Domain activities in compliance with QCD commitments.
Planning and piloting Electro-Mechanical Domain activities and related deliverables on project taking into account applicable instructions/processes and other specific Customer (internal or external) requirements.
Ensuring Mechanical Domain deliverables quality and their acceptance by the Customer (internal or external) within committed limits.
Reporting on Electro-Mechanical Domain activities progress and alerting relevant N+1 in case of issue potentially impacting achievement of QCD commitments.
Defining requirements and mechanical interfaces to equipment (Allocated volume, weight, location, 3PL, etc.).
Monitoring assigned Electro-Mechanical Installations, Locker and Harness Volume definition deliveries in conformity with project needs.
Checking availability on time of work package input data and escalate if necessary.
Checking supplier's and sub-contractor's Design Quality

Responsible for :
Planning and piloting Electro-Mechanical Domain activities and related deliverables on project taking into account applicable instructions/processes and other specific Customer (internal or external) requirements.
Applying TE rules, processes and tools (single-domain) and ensuring Electro-Mechanical Domain deliverables quality and their acceptance by the Customer (internal or external) within committed limits.
Managing production of deliverables in accordance with planning targets on Electro-Mechanical Domain assigned work packages.
Designing products taking into account project requirements (performances, manufacturability, serviceability, testability, etc.).
Preparing and documenting Electro-Mechanical Domain Design Reviews according to project schedule and following-up the main open actions.
Checking respect of Allocated volumes/interfaces (no-clashes) on internal design.
Resolving Project Mechanical issues and following challenging actions (single-domain)
Defining mitigation plans covering a risk identified on Project Electro-Mechanical Domain scope.
Reporting on Electro-Mechanical Domain activities progress, anticipating issues (capacity, skills, rule applicability, etc.) and alerting if needed.
Respecting and/or allocating requirements and mechanical interfaces to Sub-Systems/equipments (Allocated volume, weight, location, 3PL, etc.)
Coordinating Electro-Mechanical Domain contributors on Project.
Analysing and consolidating change request impacts on Electro-Mechanical Domain scope
Producing Electro-Mechanical Domain deliverables (RSAD L2, Validation Plan, etc.)
Validating relevant Electro-Mechanical Domain deliverables and securing planning.
Verifying design via mock-ups or simulations.

Contributor for :
Defining mitigation plans covering a risk identified on Project Electro-Mechanical (multi-domains)
Perform quotation of engineering workpackage , upon request
Defining Project Electro-Mechanical Decomposition (PBS)
Defining Electro-Mechanical Project/Product Prefered Part List (3PL) delivery.
Supporting Sourcing, Industrialization and Manufacturing teams during Production ramp-up.
Collaborating with EDL for continuous improvement of the Domain (including RoE)
Defining Electro-Mechanical Domain architecture taking into account weight, gauge, installation strategy, acoustics, eco design, ergonomics,
aerodynamics, aeraulics…
Support the continuous improvement of the TE Electro-Mechanical Domain Activities.

REQUIRED PROFILE:

  • Mecanical or Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent
  • 10 years or more of relevant experience
  • Project Management knowledge
  • Creation, modification or verification of electromechanical design
  • Mechanical / Electro-mechanical design using Catia V5 or equivalent
  • Panel or harnesses manufacturing production support
