Job Summary

The Tool Specialist Level 1 - 4 has a strong knowledge of, and ability to run various production and completion down hole tools, e.g. packers, bridge plugs, fishing tools, casing repair tools, power swivels. Tasks include scheduling of customer jobs and Tool Specialists work schedules, and the training of Tool Specialists as need be. $17.00 hour - $21.00 hour  Based on Experience.  20/10 Rotation must be able to travel. Requiring 5 years fishing tool experience. 



Specific Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Business Ethics – Understands fully Ensign’s ethics policy and its application in all business dealings includingcontractual agreements and contract negotiations
Business Policies – Understands and agrees to follow all of Ensign’s Policy and Directives and procedures asset forth in the Ensign Company Policy and Basic Directives Handbook for Employees
Certifications – Maintains valid First Aid, CPR and Well Control Certifications and technical and safetycertifications required by company or government agencies; remains current on all OSHA, EUSD and otherrequired training
Drug-free workplace - Conforms to a drug-free workplace, is not under the influence of mind-alteringprescription or non-prescription drugs, including alcohol and other drugs of abuse
Occupational Health and Safety – Understands fully the Ensign Health and Safety policy and demonstratesself-responsibility for own health and safety at work; demonstrates responsibility to avoid adversely affecting thehealth and safety of others through any act or omission
Uses the correct protective clothing and equipment as provided by Ensign and guards against misuseor damage to such equipment
Reports any hazardous situations arising in the workplace that cannot be self corrected, or injuryincurred during the course of work, no matter how minor
Avoids injury resulting from manual handling tasks, by use of risk assessment, correct mechanicalhandling equipment and correct manual handling techniq



Qualifications

Works in a safe, healthy, and environmentally protective manner
Performs and is knowledgeable on how to rebuild, use, run and repair many various cased hole production toolsand completion tools; must have the ability to use this knowledge to carry out well-site cased hole work asrequested by direct supervisors or operator personnel
Assists shop personnel at times in the repair and rebuilding of tools and must check to ensure tools are in goodworking order and tested prior to call out
Inspects tools and ensures quality rebuilds and materials
Presents a clean, professional and experienced persona to customer
Delivers tools and equipment to customer locations, and coordinates customer services with supervisor andshop
Reports and corrects any unsafe work practices and safety hazards
Participates in all safety programs, processes and requirements
Attends Training up to two times per year and up to five days per training at designated locations
Performs other duties as directed by management
Level 1:
Knows all equipment on packers and plugs
Performs complex math calculations.
Understands basic procedures on running tools
Level 2:
Understands and is proficient in all Tool Specialist Level 1 duties
Knows all equipment on packers and plugs and beginnings of down hole practices
Understands procedures on running tools
Demonstrates ability to maintain accounts
Mentors and oversees Tool Specialist Level 1
Level 3:
Understands and is proficient in all Tool Specialist Level 1 & 2 duties
Knows all equipment on packers and plugs and fishing related services
BOP Equipment
Field Superintendent
Admin. Personnel
Occaisonal night and weekend work required

Level 4:
Understands and is proficient in all Tool Specialist Level 1, 2, & 3 duties

Demonstrates leadership, motivational team-building, and skills to influence and motivate others withoutauthority.
Makes good decisions, often with limited information, based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom,experience, and judgment
Demonstrates experience level that is at par with Field superintendent qualities
Mentors and oversees Tool Specialist Level 1, 2 & 3



Technical Competencies

Performs and is knowledgeable of computer applications, e.g. Microsoft Work, Microsoft Excel and others
Understands and has strong knowledge of various production and completion downhole tools, e.g. packers, bridgeplugs, fishing tools, casing repair tools, and power swivels
Understands and is knowledgeable to carry out well servicing operations, as needed

Education and Experience

High School diploma or GED is preferred
