About the job: 

Kent is recruiting a Benefits Coordinator based in Houston, Texas.  You will provide support to the Sr Rewards Analyst – Western Region to administer employee benefits for the United States and Canada.  You will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of all Health and Welfare and Retirement plans in both countries. 

Your responsibilities:  
 
  • Accounts Payable processing
  • Handling day-to-day administrative aspects of company's U.S. and Canadian benefits programs including:
    • Monthly benefits billing
    • Funding retirement plan contributions
    • Funding employee savings accounts
    • Employee queries
    • Running special reports and providing information to the company brokers and vendors, as needed.

  • Working with Payroll, Human Resources and the insurer to manage leaves.
  • Ensuring data passed through to third-party systems is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Working with broker to ensure benefits programs meet employee needs, comply with legal requirements, and are cost effective.
  • Assisting with the evaluation of existing benefit programs against peer organizations to determine competitiveness and trends.
  • Assisting with annual open enrollment.
  • Maintaining a variety of reports or queries using appropriate reporting tools. of reports or queries using appropriate reporting tools.


Additional Responsibilities

  • Actively support Director Total Rewards in assigned projects and ad hoc activities.


Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: 

Qualification/ Certification:
 
  • High School Diploma required, College Degree in any field preferred. 


Skills Requirement:
 
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience within corporate human resources with the focus on benefits in US; Canada benefits experience is a plus. 
  • Working knowledge of US retirement plans rules and processes.

Communication:
 
  • Ability to communicate on a professional level with all levels of employees within the company. 
  • Should have strong interpersonal skills, be approachable, responsive, proactive and trustworthy.

  • Demonstrated strong Excel skills
  • Ability to work with confidential data and always maintain confidentiality. 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with extreme accuracy.
