We are looking for a Cost Control Analyst to strengthen Aker's Subsea team based in either their Aberdeen or Reading offices. This role is suitable for someone with a background in project cost control, ideally on EPC projects. You will be analytically and commercially minded, with strong attention to detail and improvement mindset.

The Subsea segment delivers high tech solutions for EPC long-term contracts dealt by multidisciplinary project teams. The Cost Control Analyst will be frequently liaising with different departments such as Project Management, Planning, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Sales and project teams in other countries to be able to execute the cost controlling tasks.

What will you be doing?

  • Preparation and communication of monthly reporting and forecasting in close liaison with the Project Manager and Project Team. Perform monthly variance analysis on material, labour and miscellaneous costs as required.
  • Report monthly Project Cash Flow and monitor foreign currency exposure with Accounting Services team. Under the guidance of more senior team members collect, analyse and communicate deviations to support understanding and decision making.
  • Identification, reporting and monitoring of financial threats and opportunities. Perform project contingency analysis. Support the Project Manager on measuring operational risks and giving feedback to P&C team about potential cost missing or opportunities identified after the project award.
  • On time and accurate invoicing to support good Working Capital management
  • Support the Project and Business Manager on VOR preparation
  • Attend and support client meetings when required
  • Understanding and experience of applying/interpreting the relevant standards/practices associated with the Subsea Cost Management. Ensure adherence to IFRS and Aker Solutions accounting policy
  • Input to and support continuous improvement exercises seeking for digitalized and LEAN processes and activities

We think you should have:

  • Self- motivation and enthusiasm to deliver results
  • Good understanding of basic accounting
  • Background in EPC project cost control, Lump sum or reimbursable scopes.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Basic knowledge of SAP desirable
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external 'customers'
