PGSD has an opening for a Staff (level 5) Reliability Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Azusa, CA. This role will report on-site daily. We can accommodate partial teleworking, but it is fully dependent upon business/program/team need.

General description of roles and responsibilities of Principal / Sr. Principal Reliability Engineer:

Develops, coordinates and conducts technical reliability studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts and design of experiments (DOE) constructs. Recommends design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability. Complies and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics; investigates and analyzes relevant variables potentially affecting product and processes. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards. Analyzes preliminary plans and develops reliability engineering programs to achieve company, customer and governmental agency reliability objectives. May develop mathematical models to identify units, batches or processes posing excessive failure risks. As necessary, proposes changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability. May determine units and/or batches requiring environmental testing, and specifies minimum number of samples to obtain statistically valid data.

Additional specific functions include:

Determining failure rates
Generating predictions and models
Allocation of reliability requirements
Performing FMEA
Identifying failure modes and responses
Identifying critical items
Providing general support for design reviews,
Developing technical solutions to reliability and availability problems
Implementing probability and statistical tools to solve problems involving

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and a minimum 14 years related experience, OR Master’s degree in a STEM field and a minimum of 12 years experience, OR a PhD in a STEM field and 9 years of experience
Ability to obtain & maintain a DoD secret security clearance (US Citizenship Required)

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with electronics components and design principles
Proven familiarity with reliability prediction modeling and tools
Hands-on reliability experience with Space systems

Current & active DoD security clearance

Salary Range: $146,000 USD - $219,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
