Reports to the Lead Corporate Accountant

Role Objective

The Corporate Accountant (CA) will act as Controller for Seadrill Management, potentially the most high-profile Company in the Seadrill Group, along with other central management and services entities. In addition, the CA would be expected to deputise for the Corporate Lead when they are unavailable.

Controllership responsibilities include timely and accurate preparation of profit and loss, balance sheet (including group wide recharges from control accounts) and identified phased financial reports.

The role will also involve management of onshore global profit centres (PC), liaising directly with the Director of Corporate Planning and Reporting, Corporate Controller, Onshore PC owners (including VPs), Group Reporting team, Treasury team and Regional teams based locally in Liverpool.

Principle accountabilities

  • Phased financial reviews for all assigned LEs on a quarterly cycle
  • Monthly PC reviews for onshore PC owners
  •  P&L Forecasting
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation preparation and review including a significant volume of recharges in a controlled and organised fashion
  • Journal preparation and review
  • Seadrill Management Yearly tax reporting pack
  • Preparation of Group Reporting deliverables
  • Intercompany review and reconciliation
  • Lead on statutory audits for Seadrill Management
  • Mentor and support the Financial Accountant community
  • Assign roles and responsibilities to the Financial Accountant
  • Support Lead Corporate Accountant with deliverables review and cover
  • Participate and eventually lead on projects for improvements across the business


  • Qualified or Part Qualified Accountant
  • Strong Organisational and People Management Skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS and UK GAAP (FRS102)
  • Experience in a large private company work environment
  • Experience of mentoring other team members
  • Understanding of and experience with statutory reporting requirements
  • Ability to take initiative and work on tasks independently or as part of a team
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with a global ERP system
