£91,000 - £104,000/Year
NES Fircroft is working with a major Oil and Gas operations company, who are looking to add a Project Engineer to their Wytch Farm site. 

This position operates on a full time Monday - Friday working 37.5 hours a week basis. It will be employed as a PAYE temporary contract, initial 6-9 months. It will offer an attractive day rate. 

To be considered for this role candidates must have an existing right to work in the UK. 

About the role

We are seeking an on-site Project Engineer to lead or assist on a number of project activities, the predominance of which will be around development of the surface facilities that support the main operations.

You will need to work closely with engineering, construction, commissioning and operational personnel on site in order to successfully deliver the agreed project plan. The individual will need to assist the Senior Process Engineer with the execution of existing projects that will require a site presence to technically assist construction, as well as initiate new projects in the asset plan under the direct guidance of the Senior Process Engineer.

The individual will need to take a pro-active safety role to ensure that all tasks are programmed in accordance with the site's safe system of work.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Assist the Senior Process Engineer with modification/project scope development for the 2023 gas plant (integrity/inspection) outage – including developing the engineering for a potential distillation column re-tray.
• Assist with construction monitoring and project completions processes including P&ID checks and commissioning preparations for a project to recover gas from Kimmeridge wellsite.
• Lead project to downsize the cooling water pumps on the main Gathering Station's cooling water system.
• Act as Project Engineer for delivery of Furzey Island Production Enhancement Project - a production enhancement project to install a new separator on site, as well as integrating production well hot oiling requirements on the island and incorporating enhanced well testing facilities. You will need to support the Senior Process Engineer (Project Manager) with generating the scope of work, developing the design, initiating the procurement and then supporting construction and commissioning activities.
• Initial design for Well Site (F & M) Production Enhancement Project - a production enhancement project to reduce separator pressures, building on some initial flow assurance work already performed by an external contractor. You will need to support the Senior Process Engineer (Project Manager) with generating the scope of work, developing the design, initiating the procurement and then supporting construction and commissioning activities.

Essential Skills & Experience Required:

• A proven track record in project engineering in the oil and gas or petro-chemical industry.
• A degree qualified (or equivalent) discipline engineering background in either Instrument & Control, Electrical, Mechanical or Process Engineering.
• Excellent team working skills and a strong communicator with the ability to interact with organisational personnel at all levels and with contract personnel with whom the individual would have direct working contact.
• Good time management skills and an ability to plan and organise both work activities and the resources required to execute said work activities.
• An ability to pull together an engineering work pack and then to support converting it into a construction work pack and hence an executable piece of work out on site.
• Able to recognise risks and hazards.
• Well-developed interpersonal and leadership skills, self-motivated and able to motivate and inspire others.
• Able to work with others using a variety of influencing skills to avoid conflict and arrive at the best overall outcome from a business and HSE perspective.
• Open mindedness and the ability to challenge conventional methods of working, examine multiple options and select the preferred solution. Able to prioritise activities and those of others.
• An enthusiastic approach with a keenness to learn and develop best in class working relationships with contractors and fellow employees alike.
• Waste Management Awareness
• Appropriate safety training and Safety Management System awareness.
• Knowledge and experience in the use of Permit to Work Systems
• Experience in the generation and use of Task Risk Assessments
• Experience in the use of QA/QC systems such as GOC.

Beneficial Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Knowledge and experience of onshore oil and gas process plant engineering and construction activities.
• Awareness of COSHH
• Awareness of Normally Occurring Radioactive Materials (NORM).
• Specific experience in the use of Guidance on Certification (GOC)
