Purpose of the job:

The Systems Support Engineer is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the Infrastructure environments deployed within the SE ESS network; The main focus of this position is assuring the first line IT help and assistance for all the users within Schneider Electric ESS including the support of a variety of software and hardware mainly across the United Kingdom, mainland Europe, and the Far East.

Tasks:

The IT Support Engineer’s day-to-day activities may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Follow-up, troubleshooting and maintenance of the data/security/VOIP networks
  • Able to communicate well in English
  • Focus on remote support
  •  Supporting Microsoft Windows Server and Client OS’s
  •  Technical fault analysis and troubleshooting
  •  Administration of network user accounts in an Active Directory Environment
  •  Ongoing system management duties including; Backups, patch distribution
  •  Gathering data and preparing reports
  •  Undertaking project work and research when required
  • Providing technical support to users
  •  Provision end-user systems
  •  Administration of user accounts and mailboxes in Microsoft Office 365
  • Supporting desktop applications, including Microsoft Office
  • Developing documentation, including user guides
  • Keeping the device inventory up-to-date
  • Follow the change control standards so that all changes are within the documented policy
  • Receiving work via Helpdesk Systems
  • Working with all levels of employee including upper management and temporary employees
