By joining us as an Applications Support Engineer your role will be to support our customer base by delivering upgrades and modifications to their DeltaV DCS/SIS.

You will become part of our [ Link removed ] - Click here to apply to Applications Support Engineer team, within the Automation Solutions division, which helps our customers carry out maintenance, improve reliability and boost performance of their DeltaV systems.

You will be responsible for executing the complete lifecycle of small projects, from sales support through to installation and commissioning on site.

We typically engage with the latest technologies and products within the DeltaV portfolio, with a focus on system upgrades and Cybersecurity enhancements through add-ons such as Backup & Recovery, System Health Monitoring, Patch Management and Endpoint Security deployments.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR\:

  • Product Knowledge – keeping up to date with the latest developments and specializing in certain technologies and/or products for which you will be executing projects; for example, DeltaV Upgrades (physical and virtualised), Backup & Recovery, System Health Monitoring, Patch Management, Endpoint Security, etc.
  • Project Execution - managing and delivering solutions for our customers, including requirements, quotation, engineering, commissioning and ongoing site support
  • Customer Support - assisting customers in the resolution of Emerson product service and application issues, where necessary initiate and coordinate support from the Emerson Global Support Centre
  • Sales Support - providing demonstrations of Emerson products to potential customers and to provide guidance in product application and after sales service\:
    • Proactively identify Service/Product opportunities and assist in their pursuit
    • Assist in preparation of support literature for sales opportunities
  • Working Environment - being flexible to work throughout the British Isles, potentially offshore or abroad, and occasionally work unsociable hours including weekends to support customers
  • Technical Consultation - providing technical consultation and site engineering services for our customer base, assisting in optimizing their control and instrumentation systems and utilizing the full functionality of their Emerson product
  • Safety Systems - carrying out work on Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
  • Customer Training - providing on-site customer training in the application, service and operation of Emerson products


FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED\:

  • HNC/Degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent preferred
  • Self-motivated, proactive and able to manage own time
  • Experience of Windows OS and networking, with Virtualisation being an advantage
  • Knowledge of products within the DeltaV portfolio, or equivalents in another DCS
  • Experience in authoring and reviewing project documentation
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable interacting with customers
  • Experience in DeltaV configuration and graphic modifications
  • Experience with protocol interfaces i.e. OPC, Modbus, Profibus
  • Experience of working on site is preferred
