Eaton’s Aerospace Group is seeking a Regional Manager, Supplier Development (North America) to join the team. This position can be based out of an Eaton location or home office in the following locations: Southern California (Los Angeles and below), in the state of Michigan, or Cleveland, OH. Position Overview: The primary responsibility of this position is to provide operational execution for the Aerospace Group in North America as it relates to Supplier Development. Works with SCM and other key functions to execute and optimize supplier base quality and delivery performance, managing a team of Supplier Development professionals through the utilization of policies, procedures and tools ensuring alignment to our business and customer requirements. The qualified candidate will use their knowledge of quality systems, advanced product and quality planning (APQP), supplier management, program management, continuous improvement tools, and commodity manufacturing processes to manage the key SDE workstreams: Supplier APQP, Focus Supplier, Supplier Continuous Improvement, and Supplier Risk Management. This position will be responsible for developing individual team member leadership competencies and driving functional excellence in the management and launch of external supplied components, leading supplier continuous improvement activities to reduce cost and improve capability, and supporting supplier risk management activities such as focused systemic improvements at chronic supplier sites. Essential Responsibilities: Ensures goals and performance expectations are aligned to support corporate, regional and customer expectations. Provides leadership in quality including: Supplier Capability Assessments, APQP, PPAP, Capacity and Performance Improvement. Supports the development and deployment of Global SDE tools and processes to enable improvement in both Quality and Delivery performance and enhance overall supplier capabilities to meet future business needs. Builds organizational capability globally by developing commodity/process expertise to support effective supplier selection, management, continuous improvement and problem solving. Drives process for systemic improvements at chronic (Focus) supplier sites, through the use of quality tools (SPC, Lean, Six Sigma) and validates improvements through defined KPIs to reduce quality non-conformances, and delivery disruption. Monitors overall supplier performance metrics (DPPM, DMR, OTD, NOEs etc) and addresses performance gaps by driving defined strategies in accordance with the Focus Supplier Process or other short-term recovery plans. Facilitates supplier assessments, in support of new sourcing, to determine if a supplier’s business operating system and technical competency meet Eaton’s expectations. Conducts periodical deployment checks to evaluate effectiveness of Supplier Development policies, procedures and tools and make recommendations for continuous improvement. Determines regional staffing needs and manages direct reports day-to-day activities to ensure that work being done is aligned to business priority. Travels to supplier locations as necessary, providing technical leadership and communication back to the Eaton businesses. Builds functional competency through alignment with the quality functional competencies with compliance to appropriate Aerospace Group policies, procedures and tools. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing, quality, supply chain or operations Minimum 3 years’ experience in using quality tools/methodologies (PPAP, APQP, SPC, auditing) Minimum 5 years of experience managing people Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
