Responsibilities

The Base and HSE Manager Roma is crucial to the success of our organisation in Western Queensland with responsibilities covering Roma, Emerald, Newcastle and Papua New Guinea and will lead from the front in every part of this role. This role is responsible and accountable for driving a change in safety culture while demonstrating constant measureable improvements as well as ensuring all Business Units comply with company Golden Rules.

In conjunction with Business Unit Managers, This role is responsible and accountable for safe management of Inventory and asset compliance and all warehousing functions of the Roma facility. This  also includes management of on time despatch, receipting, loading and unloading of vehicles and ensuring all system based transaction are compliant and completed in accordance with company procedures and policies and ensuring all parties are compliant with the COR (Transport Chain of Responsibility).

  • Co-ordinate and comply with HSE procedures and policies in accordance with the AS 4801 Safety Management System and ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems, including:
  • Responsible for Operational Excellence Performance System (OEPS) and local regulations, including:
    • Drive regular attendance and participation in safety and tool box meetings
    • Demonstrates visible leadership to ensure the implementation and sustainment of OEPS
    • Provides advice to operational management regarding methods for effectively implementing and sustaining OEPS standards
    • Contributes subject-matter expertise during the pre-qualification, tender and contract management processes
    • Coordinates and schedules internal audits within the area of responsibility to ensure compliance with regulatory, corporate, regional, country and client requirements.
  • Coordinate and comply with quality procedures and policies in accordance with the  Weatherford Quality Management System - Operational Excellence Performance System (OEPS), including:
    • Building rewarding customer relationships (internal and external) by understanding, responding to and satisfying customer requirements.
    • Actively participating in Continual Improvement by identifying, analysing and implementing cost effective innovative solutions to the benefit of the business.
    • Ensuring equipment and personnel are fit for purpose.
  • Co-ordinate and comply with quality procedures and policies in accordance with the ISO9001 Quality Assurance System, including:
  • Building rewarding customer relationships (internal and external) by understanding, responding to and satisfying customer requirements.
  • Actively participating in Continual Improvement by identifying, analysing and implementing cost effective innovative solutions to the benefit of the business.


Qualifications

  • 8+ years experience in base management cum HSE role.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a P&L 
  • Demonstrated Ability to implement Change 
  • Extensive background in HSE and Lean methodology
  • Prefer Oil and Gas background but can consider other industries like Mining, Energy, Power etc
  • Clear understanding of COR (Chain Of Responsibility)
  • Demonstrated procedural knowledge and operational competency

Preferred:

  • Forklift Ticket is advantageous
  • Overhead Crane/ Dogging Ticket is advantageous
    Radiation Accreditation / Ticket is advantageous
  • Radiation Safety Officer experience is advantageous
