Setup and operate computer controlled turning centers, tool setting probes and secondary operation machines. Performs a variety of duties such as boring, drilling, milling, threading and turning.
Perform all types of setups including all types of programming as required to machine a quality part in the most efficient manner. This includes changing feeds and speeds, adjusting tools and modifying existing programs to obtain the most efficient setup.
Work to close tolerances required on jobs being machined as specified by blueprints. Operator uses most efficient tools at most efficient feeds and speeds to produce a quality product.
Use necessary measuring tools such as depth gauges, micrometers, dial bore gauges, etc. to check dimensions and finishes as required. Keep machine and work area clean of chips and cuttings, performs normal oiling and greasing of machine.
Performs other duties as assigned.
High school diploma, technical diploma or GED equivalent is required for this position. Previous CNC experience in an industrial setting is required.
