The Geotechnical Analyst requires a self-starter comfortable in a fast-paced environment who is willing to take on a wide number of challenges simultaneously.  Deep expertise across multiple sub-surface platforms is essential.  Specifically, a demonstrated proficiency in Petrel & Petrosys.   They will be an established ArcGIS user preferably with experience in migrating traditional Desktop products/data into Portal/Enterprise systems. 

They will be a strong advocate for best practices, and have developed expertise in data management, data governance, data standardization, and date retention. The Geotechnical Analyst should have an understanding of the E&P business including experience supporting New Ventures, Exploration and Appraisal activity is expected, including use of ArcGIS Enterprise, python scripting & data analytics tool to build comprehensive solutions internally that are focused on idea generation & streamline decision making processes.


  • Accountable for establishing, building, and managing data in Studio
  • Benchmark / trouble-shoot application performance problems and engage with IT during software upgrades / rollouts to ensure alignment with the business unit.
  • Support / help bridge business unit needs with IT Subsurface Data Manager and Senior Exploration Systems Specialist
  • Interface with certain key vendors in problem solving situations
  • Working multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment is essential. 

Licenses/ Certifications

CPDA Certification preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in oil and gas
  • Experience with geodetics, seismic & well data loading is required.
  • Proficiency in Petrel,  Petrosys and ArcGIS
  • Other applications – OpenWorks/DecisionSpace, DUG, GeoTeric, GeoLog, Kingdom, HampsonRussell
