POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will support multiple tax functions, including but not limited to sales and use tax, property tax, corporate income tax, and tax audits. This position will collaborate with other departments, business units and US group companies. The qualified candidate must be a self-starter, analytical, organized and detail-oriented. The individual must possess strong written and oral communication skills.

This position will be based out of Americas Corporate Office in Cypress, CA with the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule.

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Support various tax compliance function in preparation and filings of property tax returns, business tax, CAT, B&O, etc.
  • Support for unclaimed property compliance process that includes monitoring statutory due dates.
  • Preparation and filing of Form 1099s.
  • Assist the tax director in gathering and providing the data/information from SAP and Total Service and/or accounting managers of business units to an outside tax consultant who prepares and files sales and use and corporate income tax returns.
  • Maintain the tax calendar, and file tax returns/forms and submit tax payments accurately and timely.
  • Assist the tax director in conducting tax research using CheckPoint, governmental websites, etc
  • Assist the tax director in gathering and organizing the data/information for tax audits to ensure prompt delivery of data requested.
  • Support Business Divisions by responding to inquiries for sales and use tax and tax exempt certificates.
  • Perform other work as assigned.

Education/Experience/Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in tax or accounting in a CPA firm or corporation.
  • Advance Excel skills required (Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, etc)
  • Efficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel/ Word/ PowerPoint/ Outlook) required.
  • Experience with SAP and RIA CheckPoint tax research preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum instructions or guidance.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines and priorities in a detail-oriented and organized manner
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required
