Mission Details

Arkema Vlissingen BV is a manufacturer of various chemicals for various purposes in the plastics industry. The plant consists of two parts; D & P and MBS with semi-continuous processes. The production processes have a physically and chemically nature and take place both in continuous and batch processes. Given the nature of the raw materials and processes there are high demands placed on the equipment and safety. The production equipment includes: reactor vessels with various types of mixers, condensers, heat exchangers, centrifuges, filters, dryers and tanks for raw materials and finished products. The plant is highly automated with PLC’s and DCS. A number of processes take place in a less automated operating environment in which various, more conventional, measurement and control systems are used. 

Reporting to the Manager Process Technology, your function purpose is to improve the production process by developing proposals regarding the process, equipment, through put, quality and safety. As process owner responsible for one or more production processes. 

Responsibility includes:

- Definition and knowledge of the process
- Improvement of the knowledge
- Authorisation of changes made to the process or equipment used for this process
- Documentation
- HES-issues  
- Making improvement proposals concerning safety, throughput and/or quality

As project leader the jobholder has to be approachable for 24 hrs a day and 7 days a week during start-up. 

Required Profile

Qualifications & Experience required : 

Academic level Engineering or equal
TU Chemical Engineering or equal.
3 years relevant experience within the chemical process industry
Relevant knowledge of HES (HAZOP, ARBO, PED) 
Good communication skills (on all levels) in Dutch and English.

Planning & Organization : Plan goals, priorities and time in an effective way and organize people, materials and actions to the planned goals
Safety and environmental awareness :Take into account and fulfill all requirements in terms of safety and environment
