Solution Architect Team Lead
Job Description:
CPMO Project Delivery has an exciting opportunity for a Contract Solution Architect to support the development, coordination, and execution of technical solutions for our Toledo Interim Maintenance System (TIMS) Program.
Reporting to the Toledo TIMS Program Manager, the role of the Solution Architect is pivotal to the success of our projects and solution development. This role works closely with the IT Architecture group and will follow direction from the assigned Architects to ensure designs are following corporate standards. The role involves a mixture of development and coordination tasks. The incumbent will be the interface between the design and business analysis work within our team. This is a technical role with a coordination portion, not the other way around.

Success in this role will require managing expectations of cross-functional stakeholders and the ability to be adaptable in managing planned and unplanned responsibilities.

Work Environment:
This is a 6-month contract position based in our downtown Calgary office.
Responsibilities:
* Liaise with relevant business and technical resources to gather and manage technical business requirements
* Translate functional, non-functional, technical and architectural requirements into a conceptual solution architecture that satisfies appropriate Client standards, legislative requirements, as well as architecture and security requirements?
* Collaborate with Technical and Infrastructure teams to define the infrastructure requirements and design for the solution
* Provide input into the development of project initiation documents including objectives, scope, approach, and deliverables
* Act as an expert technical resource providing insight and recommendations based on industry and technology trends, system strategy and design
* Provide the project team with technical direction and assist in guiding the technical design and development quality
* Identify, document, and create awareness of any technical risk that may be introduced during a project
Qualifications:
* Post-secondary degree in related discipline
* Prior Solution Architecture experience is a must have
* Minimum of 8-12 years' related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Minimum 8-12 years' experience in contributing to the success of a range of midsize-to-large initiatives with above-average levels
* Experience in facilitating change, including collaboration with stakeholders
* Efficient communication skills
* Prior experience interviewing end-users for insight on functionality, interface, problems, and/or usability issues
* Minimum 5 years' experience working with IT in an oil and gas domain, including refining and maintenance
* Minimum 5 years' experience working with solutions in an integrated environment
* Experience with SAP PI/PO middleware is preferred
* Microsoft Office suite of tools including Project and Visio
* Sparx System Enterprise Architect - visual modeling and design tool
* Client Management
o Experienced in effectively interacting and communicating with business stakeholders
o Can consolidate requirements and translate them into IT deliverables
Quality Management
o Understands and adheres to company's quality management processes and practices
o Familiar with quality evaluation methods
o Participates in quality control activities
o Working knowledge of quality assurance methods, tools, and techniques
o Can describe and interpret quality indicators relevant to own unit or function
Solution Design
o Experienced with several solution process design or re-engineering efforts
o Has assessed potential implications of re-engineering for multiple functions or departments
o Able to present the results of process re-engineering experience to business management
Value Management
o Can identify the effectiveness and completeness of Business and technology strategies and ensure alignment with IT and other applicable cross-organization strategies
o Experienced in assessing business benefits, costs, and risks on multiple types of projects
