  • Ensures regulatory filings are completed timely, efficiently, effectively and in compliance with applicable laws, codes and rules. Formulates regulatory affairs and rate case strategy and provides regulatory and market planning by assimilating market intelligence from customers, competitors and industry agencies.
  • Leads and conducts sophisticated studies to support the development of innovative products and customer pricing solutions consistent with the current regulatory framework.
  • Designs market pricing and tariff changes by performing detailed quantitative and qualitative analysis (i.e., class cost of service studies and rate design); designing and preparing tariff filings; preparing and delivering rate and regulatory policy communications materials for internal and external audiences; and ensuring proper administration of tariffs and riders.
  • Assists with developing company positions and responses related to pending regulatory initiatives and for compliance with state and federal regulations in all applicable jurisdictions and regulatory environments.
  • Implements regulatory policies and strategies, including managing regulatory applications and dockets to advance corporate strategic plans and goals.
  • Ensures compliance with tariff requirements and state and federal regulations; and interprets applicable laws, codes and rules.
  • Provides support to customer service, operational and/or engineering staff in interpreting tariff-related functions such as billing units and extensions, as well as analyzing and collecting information.
  • Ensures effective regulatory communications by developing working relationships with regulatory staff and interested parties (e.g., consumer interest groups); coordinating internal and external regulatory communications; providing experienced testimony on regulatory policy and compliance performance; preparing moderately to highly sophisticated written testimony, exhibits, and other written materials; coordinating the preparation of written testimony, exhibits, and other written materials and reviewing testimony of others to ensure appropriateness of messaging and linkage to corporate/regulatory strategy; and providing oral testimony before regulatory bodies as required. Represents the company in the public arena regarding regulatory affairs issues.
  • Coordinates project schedules and the preparation of documents related to regulatory commission orders, data requests and responses, compliance filings, witness testimony and exhibits, regulatory management reports, and other departmental records. Plans and prepares regulatory related reports and implements performance measures.
