Department
FACILITIES MANAGEMENT
Primary purpose of job
1. Plan, organise and coordinate safety management systems /training related issues among all Departments under VB Directorate. Provide advice and arrange training requirements.
2. Provide support to all safety activities / safe work practices and develop systems to ensure the QatarEnergy personnel and contractors adhere to the corporation’s safety rules and regulations.
3. Troubleshoots safety problems or queries as they arise and provide advice and assistance aimed at reducing accidents and losses. Coordinate with other governmental agencies and QatarEnergy departments to ensure national safety regulations are followed in QatarEnergy owned workplaces.
Experience & Skills
1. Post Graduate diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent such as NEBOSH.
2. Accreditation to use any Internationally recognized Incident/ accident Analysis tools (Ex. Tripod beta)
3. Minimum of 10 years experience in safety field in Oil, Gas or Petrochemical industry inclusive 5 years experience in Incident/Accident Investigation, Coordination and Training.
4. Ability to apply knowledge and expertise using original and innovative professional approaches and techniques, to solve safety related issues relating to Oil and Gas development and related problems.
5. Good negotiation skills, analytical skills, data interpretation and compilation skills.
6. Good leadership, command and control skills.
7. Good presentation and investigation skills.
8. Ability to write specifications and prepare investigation reports review and communications.
9. Ability to communicate well orally and in writing.
10. Ability to work effectively with various personnel and in teams, and be flexible in work assignments.
Education
1. BSc Honors Degree in science or engineering discipline.
