Siemens Mobility, Inc. consists of three Business Units, Rolling Stock, Rail Infrastructure, and Customer Service. Siemens Mobility provides efficient and integrated transportation of people and goods by rail and road – including rolling stock, rail infrastructure and services. Siemens designs and manufactures across the entire spectrum of rolling stock, including commuter and regional passenger trains, light rail and streetcars, metros, locomotives, passenger coaches and high speed trainsets. Cities and Railroads also rely on Siemens to provide traction-power substations and electricity transmission, as well as signaling and control technology for freight and passenger rail and transit systems. For this entity, Siemens Mobility, we are looking for two General Ledger (G/L) Accountant. The G/L group is responsible for the approved design of accounting practices and controls throughout the organization. It drives the validation and maintenance of the general ledger, account reconciliations and journal entries, including revenue recognition. The team leads the preparation of financial performance reports and ensures that transactions are recorded in conformance with IFRS, Siemens Financial Guidelines, other legal requirements and that adequate internal controls are in place and followed. This position will require experience & technical knowledge of IFRS and its application to sophisticated business processes. The role will have direct responsibility for the accounting for the Siemens Mobility US based businesses (limited support of CAN included) and will involve teamwork within the various Business Units, the Division Controlling Department, global and local accounting. This is a phenomenal opportunity to work directly with all Mobility Business units as well across all accounting departments with exposure to other accounting and finance areas. This position is located in Alpharetta / GA and reports directly to the Head of Accounting of Siemens Mobility. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: - Support Siemens Mobility in general ledger accounting & related account reconciliations - Review, analysis & oversight to the general ledger processes & data - Validation of accuracy of general ledger processes & controls - Provide expert-level insight for general ledger accounts - Support to Siemens Mobility Head of Accounting in all matters supporting general ledger- related impacts to the financial statements - Preparing reports and insights of financial statement fluctuations to Head of Accounting and Business Unit organization - Deliver general ledger information for external or internal auditors and/ or divisional review purposes - Provide detailed Balance Sheet review documents and analysis - Provide expertise in project accounting topics to ensure accurate financial statements - Support automation and digitalization of processes - Corporate level accruals and process ownership REQUIRED SKILLS - 4+ years of experience in a large corporation accounting environment with a strong understanding / use of IFRS - Strong project accounting knowledge - 4+ of experience with SAP FI - Accounting background and skills with excellent analytical, presentation & interpersonal skills - Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools - Shown critical thinking skills and ability to apply technical guidelines to complex accounting problems - Validated leadership and teamwork skills – able to drive & lead without direct influence - Strong appreciation for the importance of ensuring accuracy in all levels of financial reporting - Experience and familiarity with Accounting Controls (RIC) - Solid understanding of general business practices - Ability and desire to plan, control, and contribute to solving complex problems - Hard-working and resourceful to meet deadlines, achieve goals, work independently as well as work well in teams or groups - Willing to improve processes and constantly learn new skills and adjust to changing environments - Flexibility to multi-task and adjust to changing requirements, schedules and priorities - ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines - Excellent communication, writing, reporting skills to effectively communicate technical financial information - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance - CPA a plus - MBA a Plus Where permitted by applicable law, Siemens may require employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 based on job requirements, and in accordance with an accommodation based on legally protected reasons. #LI-EB1 Organization: Siemens Mobility Company: Siemens Mobility, Inc Experience Level: Mid-level Professional Job Type: Full-time Equal Employment Opportunity Statement Siemens is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer encouraging diversity in the workplace.
