What do you get in this position?
As Staff Power System Engineer you will be an expert in design of complex relaying, generator applications and PLC control systems. By demonstrating safety leadership, you will be an effective instructor and/or presenter, mentor, project leader and manager of small teams. With an in-depth understanding of power topics, you act as a domain expert in a broad scope of Protection, Control & Automation. You develop scopes of work, proposals and estimates. You identify risk and provide technical advice. You manage the design, programming and commissioning process.
Exhibiting engineering and project leadership, you will advise and support Business Development Managers and Project Developers by lending technical expertise when needed and ensuring the customer is aware and comfortable with the capabilities within Power System Engineering (PSE). Then working with various project management functions within PSE (Engineering Managers, Resource Managers, Project Managers) you ensure that the work executed is completed within the time specified and that it satisfies specifications, SOW, and customer expectations.
As the technical advisor to both internal and external customers, you will meet with them to evaluate their issues and goals and work to ensure that the offer that is presented solves their issues and meets their goals. Taking the lead, you will ensure that the executed work, whether performed by the Regional Engineer or by others within PSE, is performed within specifications and specified time. - Proposal and quotation development
- Develop solutions for complex power system engineering problems
- Technical advice during pre-sale engineering consulting
- Education of/Consultation with internal/external partners
- Mentor and coach less experienced staff
- Act as Principal on projects
- Work with PM entities to ensure work within area is completed
- Manage client expectations, facilitate proposal delivery and lead project execution.
