Job Summary

The Data Custodian role is responsible for bringing data systems under governance with the data policies related to CEMEX GO and other Commercial systems.  This role will support business process owners and business product owners to implement data policy and standards for the physical data, including data quality rules, implementing technical controls, and remediation of technical data quality issues.



Job Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of data Governance policy requirements and standards for data and data systems related to CEMEX GO and other Commercial systems.
  • Collaborate within the CEMEX GO team on creating data documentation including definitions for critical data, processes, quality control, and mitigating controls
  • Work within the team to ensure defined data quality control rules are updated as needed and assist in the implementation of data controls for Commercial data within the respective systems
  • Monitor the integrity of Commercial data, including Commercial Hierarchies and customer contact information, through established Data Quality dashboards, working with Regional data owners and Commercial team members when data requires correction, updates or other changes.
  • Work with technical teams to implement automated checks and reports to flag duplicate or incomplete records
  • Additional projects or tasks as assigned by my manager


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or Business required
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • 3 years of relevant analytical experience in Logistics/Commercial/Ready-Mix
  • Project Management Professional Certification is a plus
  • CRM Certification is a plus
  • 2+ years of experience in driving data management in a cross-functional and national environment
  • Experience or knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, and CEMEX GO a plus
  • Track record of understanding business challenges and strategies and connecting those to data and capabilities
  • Basic experience/knowledge of data governance/management processes

  • Collaborates well with other teams including Marketing, Commercial, Customer Experience, and regional teams and uses leadership skills to build strategic partnerships. 
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, ability to work independently

  • Capable of working in an open concept office environment


Physical Requirements

  • Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
  • Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently
  • Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors
  • Requires stationary position, traverse, move, transport, and the ability to significant degree to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect, or position
  • Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with employees and other individuals as well as function safely within an office environment and, on occasion, may visit industrial plant locations
