Job Description Summary

As a Maintenance Operations Leader at Metem, a GE Power business, you will lead a team of individuals maintaining precision cooling hole manufacturing equipment for power generation and aerospace industries to enable engines to run more efficiently.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate maintenance activities including work assignments, scheduling, and training
  • Drive business critical metrics including safety, quality and productivity
  • Work with cross-functional peers in manufacturing, engineering, planning, quality, etc. to resolve issues
  • Develop and support the growth of employees
  • Maintain a performance-oriented work environment encompassing timely performance appraisals, feedback, and disciplinary action when warranted
  • Schedule, train, supervise and motivate employees
  • Coordinate work performed by contractors and outside vendors
  • Ensure efficient repair schedules and review repair cost estimates
  • Prioritize the maintenance and repairs of equipment and facilities
  • Control and monitor spare parts inventory
  • Oversee operation of the wastewater treatment system
  • Maintain maintenance and equipment records using a CMMS system
  • Maintain equipment calibration records
  • Assist with determining causes of breakdown and takes appropriate action
  • Drive improvement in the department through the implementation of best practices

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 5 years of experience in a maintenance leadership position)
  • Minimum of 5 additional years of experience in maintenance operations.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications and schematics
  • Effective interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
  • Experience with CMMS systems
  • Project Management skills
