Senior Process Engineer II

Job Purpose
• Support Operations and Maintenance departments in optimizing the performance and reliability of plant process equipment and systems, identifying and correcting deficiencies and maintaining equipment and personnel safety.
• Provide Field Process Engineering support to the Projects department during FEED and EPIC phases of facilities construction and/or upgrading, as well as for in-house projects as needed.
- 40% Provide debottlenecking and modification project support
- Develop Scope of Work (SOW), PFD, P&ID, specifications, data sheets, Cause & Effect Chart and other documents for de-bottlenecking and modification projects to be executed by in-house or to be tendered out to local contractor.
- Provide process engineering support for all the production & process and multi-disciplinary integration aspects of existing plant modification design, commissioning, operability and maintainability.
- 20% Operations and maintenance support: Support field operations staff in meeting production targets and optimizing process performance.
- Monitor actual versus forecast production and process performance and develop plans for facilities upgrades needed to meet future targets.
- Develop facilities and equipment capacity and performance tests and identify present and future bottlenecks based on production forecasts.
- Identify deviations from normal or planned process operating conditions. Work with field staff to resolve abnormalities, remove bottlenecks and optimize system performance. Develop and follow through on Plant Modification requests as needed.
- Follow up on trials of new production chemicals, check and monitor their performance and issue relevant reports and recommendations in conjunction with field operations personnel.
- 20% Project support: Support Projects department with respect to the process engineering aspects of new plant design, commissioning, operability and maintainability.
- Develop conceptual designs, Scope of Work (SOW) and Terms of Reference for process engineering activities for assigned projects (In-house or EPIC)
- Provide technical input to be used by the Projects department during the basic design phase and tender document preparation.
- Provide engineering support during the technical evaluation of bids and the contractor selection process.
- Coordinate the review and approval of design documents during various stages of project execution.
- Liaise with engineering consultants during the conceptual, basic and detailed design phases of the project.
- Participate in establishing and updating process engineering standards and design philosophies. Research and monitor advances in process engineering technology and workflows and recommend their adoption where appropriate.
- Participate in Value Engineering, HAZOP, HAZID, FAT, PHSER and safety reviews for new projects. Identify and consider all possible hazards and associated safeguards during each phase of project planning, design and implementation.
- Provide input for quality inspection and quality control of projects to ensure that work is carried out in accordance with company standards and tender requirements.
- Participate in evaluating Field Modification Forms, and recommend rejection or acceptance and appropriate solutions for the proposed modifications.
- Review technical concession or deviation requests from contractors or vendors and recommend the appropriate response.
- Provide technical advice on process matters that may arise during pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up and operation.
- 10% Control: Policy, procedure and risk mitigation.
- Maintain complete and proper document control during all project phases, up to and including handover and post-contract follow-up.
- Adhere to all applicable international codes and standards, as well as HSE requirements, in carrying out departmental activities.
- 10% Coaching, Training and Mentoring: Actively contribute to the development of staff
- Bachelors degree in Chemical or Process Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in process design and engineering, with focus on offshore oil and gas operations.
- Demonstrated proficiency in process engineering calculations and the use of process simulation and other relevant software.
- Familiarity with international codes and standards to be applied during FEED and EPIC phases of projects.
