Scope of Position:

The Environmental Products and Capacity Manager will assist with strategy development, position management and trade execution for EDFR’s Renewable Energy Credit (“REC”), Capacity and Resource Adequacy portfolio. The position has primary responsibility for recommending forward and spot strategies for the sale of these products to the Risk Oversight Committee, ensuring compliance with approved transaction limits, negotiating all contract terms and ensuring delivery/performance obligations are satisfied.




40% - Position Management and Contract Execution

  • Supports position management related to EDFR’s portfolio of wind, solar and battery assets with merchant (uncontracted) REC and Capacity products
    • REC Markets: National and TX Green-e, PJM, MA SREC, NY Tier 1
    • Capacity Markets: PJM, MISO and CAISO resource adequacy
  • Recommends REC & Capacity sale strategies to the Risk Oversight Committee
  • Negotiates the economic, credit and legal terms associated with all bilateral REC & Capacity transactions, while managing the end-to-end contracting process with counterparties
  • Maintains regular communication with brokers and bilateral counterparties to determine current OTC market REC quotes
  • Ensures compliance with internal and external transaction approval limits
  • Reports on net positions in bi-weekly Risk Oversight Committee meetings
  • Initiates REC transfers and deliveries while optimizing project cash flows and minimizing budget variance

30% - Market Monitoring & Forward Price Curve Maintenance

  • Support Valuation and Analytics pricing team with updated forward price curves for RECs, RA and Capacity, blending short-term market quotes with long-term fundamental curves
  • Participate in bi-weekly Risk Oversight Committee meetings as well as external investor meetings with REC & Capacity market updates and position information
  • Monitors forward market prices and actively responds to changes in market prices related to the risk management of the REC & Capacity portfolio

20% - Market Modelling and Fundamental Analysis

  • Update and improve fundamental supply/demand models for REC markets
  • Support Asset Management team in budgeting annual REC cash flows
  • Develop benchmark sales strategies for portfolio performance monitoring

10% - Maintain and Expand Trusted Counterparty Relationships

  • Develop and expand direct relationships with counterparties and brokers for RECs and RA products


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, statistics, mathematics or related field.
  • 3+ years of commercial experience in renewable energy credit procurement, trading, or brokerage, structured power transactions, capacity procurements, or related energy markets
  • Knowledge of wholesale electricity, Renewable Energy Credit, Resource Adequacy and Capacity markets.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and PowerPoint

Working Conditions:

80% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers and other office equipment. Frequent use of phones, general office equipment, and various software programs, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite, is required. Some travel will be required, and the employee should expect on occasion to attend conferences relevant to the job.
