Superior is currently seeking a Sr. Financial Reporting Analyst to join our team in Houston, TX

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial statements, schedules and supporting workpapers supporting the relevant footnotes and MD&A for inclusion in SEC reports, including organizing and referencing supporting documentation
  • Assist Financial Planning with the preparation of financial materials as needed
  • Prepare and evaluate variance analyses and communicate findings
  • Prepare and record quarterly journal entries
  • Assist with research and documentation of accounting and financial reporting requirements
  • Assist with the annual audit and quarterly review processes with external auditors including providing supporting documentation and completion of the disclosure checklists
  • Coordinate information across multiple business units and build effective business relationships with others in the organization
  • Assist with implementation, maintenance and execution of Sarbanes-Oxley internal control processes
  • Assist with system implementations

Education and Training

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required
  • CPA Certification is preferred

Knowledge & Experience

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting
  • A combination of audit and public company experience in SEC reporting preferred
  • Experience with HFM is preferred
  • Experience with disclosure management tools (i.e., Active Disclosure) a plus
  • Experience with the Microsoft Suite of products

  • Ability to facilitate and coordinate multiple deadlines and respond quickly to management requests
  • Skilled in performing financial and analytical computations
  • Ability to work across multiple cultures
  • Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, and organization skills
  • Strong sense of business ethics, integrity and discretion
