If you are an ENGINEERING professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our ST. LOUIS, MO location, you will be responsible for the design, development, programming, and data collection of all aspects of the motor test system. You will be responsible for not only understanding and upgrading current Emerson made dynamometer systems, but also designing, building, and implementing new test systems used to validate the latest technological advancements in the HVAC motor design world, like Brushless Permanent Magnet Motors and High-Speed Centrifugal Machines.    
 
As an Engineer III - Senior Test Systems & Drives Engineer, you will: 
  • Design & develop dynamometers to test various electric motors/machines.  
  • Lead the development of new automated test systems including software and hardware
  • Improve and maintain current test systems via hardware upgrades and software modifications.
  • Troubleshoot when test systems go off-line and take effective countermeasures, when applicable, to keep the test systems running.
  • Manage the implementation and validation of test equipment to evaluate electric motors, components, and other electrical characteristics in global laboratory and production locations.
  • Use project management principles to communicate project scope, timeline, risks, and status.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • BSEE or ME or military equivalent or equivalent experience in motor testing
  • 3-5 Years of experience as a test systems engineer
  • 1-2 years of programming experience in Lab View
  •  Ability to read and generate test system schematics in some form of electronic media
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role
     
 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  
  • Programing experience in Visual Basic
  • Understanding and use of Regenerative Drives in test systems lab

You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm.
