Job Summary

You will primarily work on updating specification documents for medium voltage metal-enclosed switchgear for S&C’s power utility customers in Canada and US. This is a great opportunity to learn from experienced engineers who will provide all the necessary training to be successful during your work term.

Work Term: Fall 2022 (September - December) 


  • Develop basic electrical & mechanical design knowledge of metal-enclosed switchgear
  • Review, with the support of experienced team members, power utility conditions of service documents for assigned territories to understand their individual service entrance requirements
  • Prepare summary specification documents for the utilities & major customers which S&C serves
  • Assist with reviewing and preparing proposal documents for medium voltage metal-enclosed switchgear
  • Job-shadow engineering team members in multiple departments to gain an overview of the work process flow
  • Perform additional duties to assist the engineering team as needed


  • Electrical Engineering student
  • Knowledge of the basics of power system protection & control
  • Self-starter with excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently as well within a team environment.
  • Fast-learner with an aptitude for learning company-specific software
  • Proficient with Microsoft software, specifically Excel, Word and MS Project
