Machine Service Technician job in Rochdale at Morson Talent

Job Purpose

The overall role of the Machine Service Technician will be to provide technical support to production which involves the production of passports

Main Responsibilities:

• Maintain equipment to provide safe, reliable & efficient production, adhering to all HSE regulations/policies
• Undertake planned maintenance routines
• Participate in the machines and process failure analysis
• Support Operations IT with the implementation and administration of IT systems linked to production where required
• Implement improvements and changes
• Liaise with Production at all levels to facilitate the identification and resolution of process problems
• Continuously develop and standardise operation parameters and procedures to achieve maximum revenue generation throughputs with the best overhead and labour efficiency at the lowest cost of goods sold
• Support the introduction of any new equipment in Manchester
• Work with Fareham Engineers to support equipment process management and documentation to ensure consistency across both sites
• Train and develop operators and technicians on equipment in line with WCE as and when required
• Provide instruction and guidance to production operators on machine operation and basic maintenance
• Liaise with equipment suppliers to undertake machinery diagnostics / upgrades and modifications
• Assist in the control / management of spares ensuring Database is up to date
• Enter details of maintenance and downtime in Engineers machine log
• Ensure continual high standard of housekeeping
• Based in Manchester but to provide Technical Support to other Thales sites (Central & Local)
• Any other duties as may be reasonably requested

Required Experience / Education and Skills:

• Proven multi skilled engineering experience (Troubleshooting, Fault Finding, etc.)
• Repair/calibration familiarity
• A skillset within the maintenance discipline, especially where machinery is concerned
• Excellent communication skills, especially with regard to training, and the ability to be patient and persistent
• Good problem solving skills.
• Proficient computer skills- Microsoft Office
• Must be data driven and good at analyzing data
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
• Familiarity with Inkjet & Laser Printing desirable
• Ideally qualified in electrical/mechanical engineering, industry engineering or related fields, or the equivalent working experience of related fields
