SUMMARY OF ROLE

The position of Senior Performance Engineer will be responsible for data validation, performance reporting and analysis and is expected to interact directly with Energy Assurance stakeholders and/or Site Owners for any system performance-related activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Perform project simulations using industry-standard and internal simulation platforms
  • Develop tools and methods to streamline simulation processes and improve simulation accuracy
  • Consistently meets and often exceeds output targets with no or minimal errors
  • Research methods to improve modeling of PV Systems and contribute towards setting company-wide performance standards
  • Complete performance investigations using data from O&M and industry research to verify and update our modeling assumptions
  • Offers guidance and support to levels 1 Performance Engineers
  • Possesses deep understanding of the functions across business units
  • In charge of advanced performance review processes and analysis
  • In charge of data analysis, issue identification and delivery of Performance Guarantee reports to Customers
  • May be assigned to do complex performance reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual, portfolio, production) upon request of stakeholders
  • Regularly communicates with critical internal teams to align/improve process
  • Directly clarifies gray areas with internal or external stakeholders pertaining to a specific request/scope at hand
  • Facilitates process knowledge transfer to the Energy Assurance Team

RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Preferred educational background:
    • Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Statistics
    • Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic, Civil, Mechanical, Computer/Telecommunications, Chemical)
    • Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Mathematics
  • Work Experience:
    • At least 2-4 years of related work experience in system performance engineering and analytics or equivalent
    • Advanced understanding of PV technology, solar power, power generation, data acquisition
    • Advanced knowledge on at least one on each tool category:
      • Data Analytics Tools (MS Excel, SQL, Tableau, Python)
      • Performance Analysis Tools (PVWatts, PVSol, PVSyst, SAM, PVGrid, PVSim)
      • PV Design Solutions (Aurora, BlueSol, Helioscope, PVSketch, PVComplete, PVCAD)
  • Skills/Competencies:
    • Strong growth mindset – you can learn new topics, tools, and processes quickly
    • Excellent communication skills – you are responsive and work well with others to solve problems
    • Well-organized
    • Strong team spirit
    • Ability to work night shift, weekends, US/Philippine holidays

OTHER PERTINENT INFORMATION

  • Location: ROHQ
  • This is an FTE position
  • Candidate must be willing to work in Binan Laguna
  • Candidate must be legally entitled to work and reside in the Philippines
  • Candidate must be willing to render overtime as business requires (weekends, US/PH holidays)
  • Candidate must be flexible to work on either morning shift or night shift schedule supporting North America region
  • Tool of Trade: Laptop/Desktop, Extended Monitor, Headset (as needed)
  • Job Grade: PA.42
