Position Summary:   
We are offering this exciting opportunity to join our Commercial Division, as a Project Safety Manager, working on a variety of complex construction projects.  As a Safety Manager, you will work closely with the field crews, general foremen, project management team, and add value across the projects and beyond. You will manage the company's environmental, health and safety program on one or more local projects; provide technical support and assistance to Project Team in developing and maintaining a Project Safety Roadmap; and support Project Team in developing and sustaining an Incident and Injury Free Culture (IIFC). 

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Support Crew Foreman/General Foremen in development of Job Hazard Analyses and an overall Project Safety Roadmap 
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs through daily field walks. Regulatory compliance and audit oversight. 
  • Provide coaching and mentoring for employees exhibiting unsafe behaviors, and provide recognition for employees exhibiting safe behaviors. 
  • Deliver safety training and new employee orientations 
  • Support incident investigations 
  • Provide regular feedback to Project Team on safety areas for improvement and recognition. Assist in the development of project-specific corrective action plans to address safety issues occurring in the field. 
  • Collaborate with the general contractor and other subcontractor Safety Professionals on job-specific injury prevention measures. 

Job Requirements: 

  • College degree desired, preferably in environmental health and safety discipline. 
  • 8+ years of experience related to Construction Safety 
  • 5+ years in a similar management role in construction, experience with Electrical Contractors desired 
  • Ability to work independently, strong communication skills with the ability to influence behaviors 
  • Safety certification—such as CHST, OSHA 510 / 500—is highly desired.
