The Job


Leading main contracting organisation require a Quantity Surveyor with sound understanding of NEC option B contracts and experience of working on utility (water, gas, electricity, telecoms) or highways projects to join their team in the South West.

This role will see you support the delivery of a variety of fibre installation projects in the Bristol, Worcester, Gloucester, Cheltenham area. This is will be an initial working from home arrangement, but candidates will need to live in commuting distance of one of these locations as they may need to go to site in the future.

This is a contract vacancy paying £282.50 per day. The rate quoted is the Gross Umbrella rate (i.e. the rate we pay to the Umbrella company inclusive of ALL employment costs). Please note, the rate paid by the Umbrella will be less, as will a Limited Deemed rate or Agency PAYE rate. Please get in touch to discuss the rates via these different payment vehicles.

To be considered for the role candidates will need to have the following:

  • Sound knowledge and experience of NEC3 ECC Option B (Bill of Quantities) form of contract;
  • Sound understanding of Early Warning Notices, Compensation Events and Quotations
  • Ideally with experience of Causeway Project Accounting, although training can be provided
  • Ideally with experience of DepotNet, although training can be provided
  • Ideally with experience with CEMAR, although training can be provided
  • Subcontractor management - engagement, payment, disputes
  • Site measures - payment applications to client
  • CVR preparation and reporting
  • Cash forecasting / budget forecasting
  • Flexible, focused and collaborative work ethic
  • Clean drivers licence
