If you are a professional looking for a great opportunity to grow, develop and expand your skills professionally, Emerson has an exciting must-see opportunity for you!  We are looking for a Customer Engagement Lead based at one of our Houston Texas locations.  In this role you will be involved and exposed to projects supporting Emerson’s flow systems, known for being best-in-class performance and ease-of-operation by oil and gas companies worldwide.

AS A Customer Engagement Lead YOU WILL: 

The Customer Engagement Lead is the local interface to the customer, working strategically and proactively with the customer to ensure the project is executing accurately, on time and is fully aware of overall health of the project.  Most importantly, in this role your proactive engagement with the customer is intended to get ahead of any potential issues or challenges experienced by the project team or customer and to arrest or escalate as appropriate.  You will work at the direction of the project manager acting as an extension of the project manager and execution team. You will also be responsible for working directly with the project manager to ensure the trade order location finances, EAC updates and rolling forecasts align with the project execution.  The functions of this role will often vary from project to project depending upon the customer and the time constraints when working across multiple time zones and differing languages.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Degree in Engineering is required
  • 10 years of professional experience, specifically with Analytical Process Gas, Liquid & Gas Custody Transfer Metering, or relevant experience
  • Good knowledge of Oil & Gas industry equipment, instruments, piping, and structural work
  • Solid people management skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all levels.
  • Strong leadership, organizational and planning skills.
  • Knowledge of commercial and financial issues.
  • Excellent analytical skills and results oriented.
  • Decisive, drive and ability to deliver effective, innovative solutions.
  • Proven skills in the use of project tools (such as MS Project) and techniques.
  • Able to interact positively with stakeholders from various countries, recognizing and adapting to the cultural differences that exist.
  • Flexibility to work non-standard hours when meeting project deadlines
  • Willing to travel 5-10% of the time when needed.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: 

  • Engineering degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, Chemical, Mechanical, Control or Computer Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience in process control industry and project management, with at least 5 years in managing concurrent projects of flow and quality engineered solutions scope
  • PMP Certification
  • Good knowledge in application of various types of meters for gas & liquids measurement, good working knowledge of ASME, ANSI, API, API MPMS, ISO & other industry standards related to Oil and Gas measurement services
