We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Technical Coordinator within our Technology organization. The work location is at our Technology Center in Wichita, Kansas.
Essential Job Duties
Maintain as our highest priority, the protection of the environment, the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and/or transport our products.
Understand and work in accordance with all site safety and environmental procedures including the site Chemical Hygiene Plan. Adhere to the use of personal protective equipment as required.
Provide attention to detail, and dedication to work in order to ensure reliability of the work site as well as high quality product.
Search, review, and generate clear, concise literature search reports of technical literature and IP documentation relative to specific technologies using search engines such as SciFinder, STN, Chemical Abstracts, etc.
Monitor and report import activity of specific commodities using services such as Panjiva
Support, maintain, and upgrade OxyChem’s on-line technical data libraries and their accessibility.
Support, maintain, and enhance technical SharePoint sites.
Coordinate and maintain archived technical data records and retrieval.
Produce clear, concise, accurate, and timely departmental reports (financials, project, safety.)
Generate purchase requisitions and reservations in SAP.
Analyze Technical Center vendor invoicing discrepancies.
Provide clerical and administrative support for the Technical Center.
Maintain Technical Center’s physical library, technical files, Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and chemical inventory databases.
Maintain stocking of office supplies and office equipment for the Technical Center.
Administer the vacation and attendance tracking system for Tech Center employees.
Assist in performing the mailroom duties for the Wichita facility on a rotating basis.
Actively participate in site safety programs, including acting as accountability coordinator.
High School diploma or GED with advanced administrative educational coursework and 5+ years of relevant experience required.
A Bachelor’s degree in the sciences, library science, or another applicable discipline is preferred.
Experience with public domain technical and patent literature preferred.
High proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, and SharePoint.
Must be able to prioritize and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
High degree of organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
Physical requirements – Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.

Additional Desired Qualifications
Course work in chemistry or relevant experience in a chemical plant setting.
Experience setting up and managing SharePoint sites.
TSCA regulatory experience.
Formal statistics training or experience using statistical software for evaluating data.
Basic working knowledge of SAP.
