Eaton’s Energy Automation Solutions business has an opening for a Senior Software Developer located in Plymouth, MN. Primary Function: As a DevOps Engineer, you will make a large contribution to our team by enabling faster and higher quality development, providing faster system feedback, and reducing time spent on automatable tasks. You will work with Software, QA, and Operations groups to find and prioritize needs and provide solutions to the most valuable problems. Our applications use a variety of environments and technologies including Windows, Web, APIs, Databases, and Cloud functionality. You will work with a small team with both established software and significant room to grow. You will be responsible for developing and enhancing DevOps solutions to keep pace with fast-paced Agile delivery and update and create code delivery and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Essential Functions: Guide current and future DevOps plans for a set of products Understand the system and users needs and decide on the best DevOps practices Maintain and improve the DevOps environment used by software development teams, including automated software build tools and environments, test environments, dashboards, etc… Manage the deliveries of software products, producing the deliverables and coordinating the various related activities that depend on them Contribute to the improvement of our internal tools and the processes in use within the software team Guide and support the development team in the use of the DevOps infrastructure Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or Engineering from an accredited institution. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in software development. Minimum of 3 years experience in DevOps Experience with Azure, Powershell, Git, and/or VMWare Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future without requiring company sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of DevOps best practices and experience prioritizing DevOps plans Experience deciding on tools and processes for DevOps Experience with Java and/or C# software development Experience with Azure DevOps, Bamboo, InstallShield, VMWare Understanding of typical software architectures, object oriented programming, design principles, and best practices for software development.
