If you are a PURCHASING & PROCUREMENT professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our SIDNEY, OHIO  location, you will have the responsibility to help develop and support sourcing strategies in Electronic / Electrical commodities.  This will include cost, on-time delivery, quality, regionalization, lead time reduction, Inflation containment, etc. The position will also support Electronic / Electrical New Product Development programs. 

  • Support Electronic and Electrical commodity inflation and containment projects to help achieve organizational goals

  • Perform electronic sourcing bids events for new programs

  • Negotiate contractual agreements with suppliers

  • Conduct risk mitigation analysis on Electrical / Electronic supply base

  • Support department Key Performace Indicators such as Lead Time reduction, Improved On-Time Delivery, Quality Improvements, Production support, and Improve Supply Chain Flexibility

  • Procurement liaison for Electronic / Electrical new programs

  • 4 Year Business or Technical degree, or equivalent experience (Co-op experience will be considered)

  • Effectively communicate, lead meetings, make presentations and use tact and professionalism at all times

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.  

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.   


  • 2 - 4 Years Procurement or Related Experience

  • Prior knowledge of Electrical / Electronic commodities

  • Proven track record of achieving results

  • ISM, APICS, or other Procurement, Materials Management certification

  • Prior experience managing a commodity, team, or large scope project

  • Blueprint reading experience

  • Basic/Working knowledge of LEAN and/or Perfect Execution Methodologies

The newly renovated Sidney campus has 1M square feet of manufacturing floor with an additional 120k square feet of leading-edge lab facilities. This location is the headquarters for the air conditioning and cold chain businesses. Through our 30 years of scroll compressor expertise, our air conditioning-related products help bring comfort and convenience in commercial, industrial and residential spaces. The cold chain business helps ensure that food safely and efficiently travels from farm to fork. Approximately 1600 employees work in Sidney, who all support a multitude of business functions.
