Position Description

Kinder Morgan CO2 Company is currently seeking a Process Engineer for the gas processing facilities at the Snyder Gas Plant. Position level commensurate with experience and skill set. The position is geared toward an engineer with 1-10 years of experience, and will be located in Snyder, Texas. The successful candidate will serve a vital role in maintaining the safe and efficient operations of the plant facilities. The Snyder Gas Plant is a part of the SACROC Gas Processing facilities, which employ a multitude of processes which include over 300,000 hp of compression, gas dehydration facilities, NGL Recovery facilities, and CO2 membranes. The Snyder Gas Plant is a PSM Facility. The position will focus on maintaining and/or improving the operation and reliability of the compression fleet and maintaining or improving NGL recoveries process, but will also include the following: Essential duties and responsibilities:  1. Engineering support such as:
- Modeling or analyzing process systems
- Optimization of plant processes and compression systems
- Specification of new or replacement process equipment.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with Process Safety Management
- Executing MOCs for proposed changes to the facilities.
- Writing or reviewing operating procedures 2. Operations support such as:
- Troubleshooting of process equipment, compression equipment, and plant operations
- Surveillance of plant processes on PLC, DCS, or SCADA
- Aiding with plant operations
- Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns
- Participating in emergency response roles and training
- Participating in weekend on-call rotation and available for 24 hour call-out during the week. 3. Plant maintenance support such as:
- Developing solutions to equipment problems
- Enhancing system design to lower yearly maintenance costs
- Facility shutdown planning
- Interacting with maintenance personnel
- Create maintenance work orders 4. Project Support such as:
- Design and modification of new or existing process systems or equipment.
- Preparation of project cost estimates (AFE’s)
- Equipment purchasing
- On site supervision of work crews
- Project cost tracking
- Completing appropriate project documentation and paperwork 5. Operate company vehicles during daily activities
6. Other duties as assigned.      

Position Requirements

Education Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering EDUCATION STRONGLY PREFERRED

Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Natural Gas Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Working Conditions:
- Tasks are performed indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions in daylight & darkness.
- May be required to stand, walk, sit, ascend/descend stairs or ladders, use hand tools, reach with hands and arms.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Plant vessels and piping systems contain H2S and hydrocarbon gases which are flammable and may be explosive under certain circumstances
- Requires working on holidays when a holiday falls on a scheduled on-call weekend Required skills and knowledge:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Self starter and high drive for results
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks
- Strong teamwork
- Strong communication skills
- Good computer skills
- Strong analytical skills Must maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the company’s insurers. Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus on attention to detail, and follow work rules. Preferred skills and knowledge:
- Experience in oil and gas operations
- Experience with amine treating systems
- Experience with reciprocating compression
- Experience with separation equipment
- Experience designing process control schemes to achieve a safe and efficient operation.
- Experience with Microsoft Access
- Experience with HYSYS and/or Unisim simulation software
