Position Specific Description

You have the exciting opportunity to join a startup within the world’s largest utility company. We are bringing NextEra’s leadership in sustainable energy and regulated utility management to the water sector. NextEra Water is leveraging the strengths and expertise of NEET, Florida Power & Light, and NextEra Energy Resources to build the leading water and wastewater utility in the United States.

Key Accountabilities
•    Technical liaison between O&M staff and subject matter experts with a focus on ensuring uninterrupted service to our customers
•    Support due diligence of potential acquisitions with a focus on assessing, quantifying, and mitigating risks 
•    Establish and maintain technical standards for system development, improvement, and expansion
•    Work with key stakeholders to plan and execute a ten-year capital plan 
•    Monitoring and managing budgets and schedules for capital Investment projects and programs across the fleet.
•    Driving efficiency into project delivery through monitoring delivery metrics (unit costs, target costs vs. actual, etc.) and pursuing more effective delivery and procurement approaches.
•    Delivery of Capital Projects per accepted policies and procedures.
•    Interacts with Operations personnel to ensure project delivery program meets operations needs and is coordinated with operations personnel on operational impacts related to project delivery program.
•    Interaction with Technical SME’s regarding standards and requirements. Ensures compliance with established regulatory criteria, specifications, and standards. 

Job Overview

Employees in this role supervise the department personnel to ensure safe, reliable operation of the bulk power system in compliance with NERC Reliability Standards. Ensures on-going personnel training needs are met on all processes and procedures necessary to maintain situational awareness during normal and emergency conditions. Oversees the ongoing compliance activities directly related to the current and future requirements applicable to the NERC Transmission Operator registration. Leaders in this job ensure the department is focused on department and corporate objectives by actively communicating with upper management and direct reports.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

•   Manages and oversees the daily real-time operation of the Energy Resources Control
•   Manages the performance of the employees in the department
•   Coordinates with counterparts in Regional Reliability Organizations, Balancing Authorities and/or adjacent Transmission Operators/Transmission Service Providers in matters relating to the safe and reliable operation of the Bulk Electric System and sub transmission system
•   Develops and schedules on-going training for Operators to ensure strong situational awareness
•   Ensures that NERC continuing education requirements are met
•   Collaborates on transmission system performance with Business Manager(s)
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

•  High School Grad / GED
•  Bachelor's Degree
•  Experience:7+ years
•  Supervisor/Management Experience:3+ years

•  Master's - Business Administration
•  Master's Degree
