PRIMARY FUNCTION: Primary responsibilities include leading and supporting, productivity and continuous improvement initiatives through process and controls design improvements in a diverse manufacturing environment. Identify, manage and execute Capital projects related to automatization with the objective of sustain operations in regards of safety, Quality and Productivity as well recommend, design and implement Error Proofing for current processes. Provides input to the NPI department in regards of Machine Hardware, Software, Peripherals needed for new equipment introduced to the plant. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Develop Standards for Electric Control and deploy to Maintenance and Engineering departments. Manage (storage, backups) programs for PLC, HMI, Laser systems, Vision Systems, Safety controllers, EOLT, Technifor, etc. Implement and validate Error Proofings to improve Safety, Quality and Productivity. Identify systematic issues for electric control, work with Maintenance technicians & Engineering for permanent corrective actions implementation. Troubleshoot PLC, laser sensors, Vision System, LVDT’s, Torque equipment, servos, encoders, Laser Markers, network/Ethernet controls, robot programming and other automation and equipment problems. Chronic issues should be documented (A3, 8D, etc) Lead complex programming activities and support technicians when they are doing the programing. Maintain the upgrade of equipment to ensure production sustainability. Standardize control & safety devices and spare parts to reduce costs, improve uptime of the machines. Set the vision to be a Model Plant in regards of technology. Lead or participate in TPM RIE events and other CI initiatives. Serves as a Coach for the Maintenance technicians that support with control duties. #LI-AR7 Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Electronic, Mechatronic, Automatization Engineering degree. Minimum 3 years’ experience in automatization Knowledge of computers, measurements, laser systems, vision & ultrasonic systems. Network structure. Equipment Safety Knowledge of TPM and LOTO Project Management Programming languages (Ladder, assembler language, Visual Basic) Bilingual (English/Spanish) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Ability to work with vendors, customers, and employees. Travel as needed. ENVIRONMENTAL SYSTEM RESPONSABILITY Separate dangerous residues from the normal trash Identify machine safety hazards related to Controls.
