You will be a member of the Senior IT Team providing day to day direction and leadership across the analytical community, as well as acting as a recognised subject matter expert regarding the Applications used within Uniper. You will steer and influence tactical and strategic direction by employing both a collaborative and motivated approach. You will help to shape the strategic direction of Uniper IT.

What we are looking for

  • Can act as a leader by utilising knowledge and understanding of the Uniper business processes to provide a tactical and strategic vision aligned with other Uniper IT and Business teams.
  • Service owner for business applications used by UK Trading users (application mgmt. function in ITIL terminology)
  • 2nd level support for UK Trading business applications
  • Support the standard ITIL processes for the set of applications in the scope of F_O15-D UK
  • General IT Coordination/Support for UK Trading users.

Who we are seeking


  • Has detailed knowledge of a variety of analysis techniques.  Seeks out new techniques from elsewhere and adapts for use by self and others
  • In-depth knowledge of a variety of development techniques, understanding key concepts for building supportable, future-proof solutions.  i.e. ITIL processes and procedures,  Agile Project Management, Agile Development etc.
  • Experience of resolving conflicting opinions and situations in fast and effective ways by influencing key decision makers and creating innovative and pragmatic solutions.
  • Able to forge strong relationships with the business, acting as a focal point with specialist knowledge of a particular systems or operational area.
  • Excellent presentation, influencing and negotiation skills.  Skilled at facilitation of multiple format sessions where resolution of confusing, contentious and divided opinions is required.
  • Able to operate with autonomy, and provide a review and escalation point for other Analysts through the ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and reflect various needs of stakeholders.
  • Capable of Developing and maintaining a wide ranging network of contacts across multiple business functions that ensure effective communication, and allows for influencing and constructive challenging as well as delivering.
  • Extensive experience in the system support role
  • Experience in management of external suppliers and ideally integration of external packages into a bespoke environment.
  • Good communicator and motivator.


  • Should have a degree in IT/Computer Science
  • Demonstrable knowledge of business processes within Commercial and Customer Service functions
  • Some Project Management experience with a proven track record of delivery
  • Project or people leadership skills
